These technicians have the accountability to ensure that all the patient's charts are complete and precise. Earlier, all the details pertaining to the patients were recorded on paper. However, with the recent changes in the laws all these records have to be digitized in the time to come. This conversion will be lead by the medical records and medical information technicians. These technicians is responsible in verifying and organizing records of the patients. These records will be the foundation of the electronic database.
After collecting and classifying all the particulars related to the patients, these technicians have to key in these details in the EHR (electronic health record). There are many information that have to be recorded, and some of these include the patient's medical history, details regarding the symptoms, which are the main reason behind seeking medical help, and if any physical tests have been done then the results will also be recorded. Apart from these, some other information that these technicians have to record are physician's diagnosis, treatment plans prescribed by the physician, nursing notes, laboratory results and x-ray results, and consent forms as well.
